Bringing Everyday Sammamish Voices Back to City Hall

About Me

I am Jisha Govin. I am running as  a write-in candidate for Sammamich City Council - Position 1.

I  have been a Sammamish resident since 2016 and am proud to call the plateau my home. I have an engineering degree in Computer Science. I have worked for 8+ years in software development and 10+years in program and product management. In my last corporate role, I was a Product Manager at Amazon. I am the wife of an amazing man and the mother of two teenagers (and two dogs).

Why am I running?

Simply put, I am running for a city council position because I believe the current council does not represent Sammamish residents. I want a council that will be the voice of its residents, and I am running to make that happen. Read more here

What does it mean to be a write-in candidate?

As a write-in candidate, my name will not appear in the voter pamphlet or the ballot. Voters will need to write in my name in the ballot to vote for me. How to cast a write-in vote

Why am I running as a write-in candidate?

I decided to run for City Council recently, after speaking with a wide range of residents who feel the current council isn’t responsive to their concerns. Although it’s too late to appear in the voter pamphlet or file as a regular candidate, I’m stepping forward now because waiting two more years could allow the council to make changes that would permanently alter the character of the city I love.

I am running alongside three like-minded candidates: Josh Amato (Position 3), Michael Boyer (Position 5) and Debbie Treen (Position 7).
